Peninsula Shiraz 2015

The bouquet of this wine shows spicy blackberry fruit along with the lifted floral Viognier aromatics.  The palate has black fruits, black pepper and fine grained tannins.  A medium bodied wine with texture and power but with a fineness that reflects its cool climate origin.

THE PENINSULA RANGE

The Peninsula or 'PE' label represents the first tier in the Paringa Estate range. In recent years Paringa has renewed its focus in ensuring the Peninsula range over delivers on quality, this Shiraz is no exception.

WINEMAKING

2015 has shown to be a favorable year for Shiraz on the Peninsula. Dry stable weather during flowering, set the season up well. This was followed by warm temperatures later in the season allowing the Shiraz to ripen well and express its full potential.

In the winery berries were de-stemmed and co-fermented with 5% Viognier in two-tonne open fermenters. Post fermentation, barrel maturation took place for 11 months.
