Estate Pinot Noir 2014

Exceptional retention of crimson-purple hue; in classic Paringa style, offering that extra dimension of varietal fruit, with no hint of over-extraction, even less 'dry reddish'. Supple and mouthfilling, it offers a fail-safe journey into secondary aromas and flavours in the years ahead. Screwcap. 13.5% alc. Rating 96 To 2027 $60           

Estate Chardonnay 2014 *

Lindsay McCall seems able to invest his Chardonnays with greater clarity of line and purpose than many of his mornington peers, something obvious in this wine. It has a purity The Paringa can't match, its white peach, grapefruit and cashew all from the same page. Screwcap. 13.5% alc. Rating 95 To 2022 $35

The Paringa Pinot Noir 2013 

Outside the normal Paringa Estate style, more elegant and fine with red fruits dominant, in part reflects the vintage, which made southern Vic pinots notably elegent, with excellent line and length. I suspect they will also surprise with the tenacity over the years ahead. You would never guess this has 14.5% alcohol. Screwcap. 14.5% alc. Rating 95 To 2025 $90 

Estate Shiraz 2013

Matured for 18 months in French barriques (25% new). The fragrant, fruit-driven bouquet leads into a medium-bodied palate that manages to be both juicy and firm, the latter reflecting the polished tannins that provide struture. Screwcap. 14% alc. Rating 95 To 2033 $50

Estate Pinot Gris 2014 *

Two-thirds cultured yeast cool-fermented in stainless steel, one-third wild fermented in used French oak. A resounding success with the best of both worlds, fresh cut pear and apple ex the tank portion, tangy/mineral notes from the barrel ferment. Peninsula Pinot Noir 2014 *

In the heartland of Paringa Estate style: generous mouthfilling and satisfying, but if you look a little deeper, complexity is there in spades; cherry and plum are framed by notes of forest/floor and whole bunches. Will age very well. 13.5% alc. Rating 94 To 2026 $27

Peninsula Shiraz 2014 *

Despite the depth and intensity of the flavour spectrum the wine has a quicksilver mouthfeel and chemistry, the systems warned by the fragrant and sensuous bouquet of bright red and purple fruits. Fine tannins and integrated French oak complete the picture. Screwcap. 14% alc. Rating 94 To 2029 $27

The Paringa Shiraz 2013 

The medium to full-bodied palate is led by blackberry, plum, licorice and spice flavours that are rounded up by tannins uninterested in hearing any discussion about their powerful grip. A wine that absolutely demands patience, but will repay it. Screwcap. 14% alc. Rating 94 To 2043 $80
