The Paringa Single Vineyard Chardonnay 2024
While ’24 was not without its challenges on the peninsula, unequivocally, Paringa Estate has featured its best wines across the range. What a feat. The flagship chardonnay comes in as both flavoursome and refined. Flinty sulphides, a lemon/ginger infusion and fresh lemons, too. Stone fruit with roasted cashews and a savouriness throughout. The palate is restrained yet detailed with creamy lees and judicious oak. Everything is in its place, and this is a beauty of a drink.

Estate Pinot Noir 2023
Not an easy vintage on the peninsula, with a lot of hard work needed in the vineyard to bring in clean fruit; this is lovely and bright. Red cherries, florals, wintergreen and musk, primary yet juicy. Textural tannins, some grip on the finish and plenty of acidity, so food essential.

Estate Shiraz 2024
There’s a coolness to this, a regional character. There’s the Asian spices, the black pepper and florals, and the darkest purple hue in the glass. All bodes well. The palate doesn’t disappoint; it’s expansive with textural tannins and excellent fruit flavour, the oak superbly integrated yet adding some sweet cedar spices.

The Paringa Single Vineyard Shiraz 2024
Often The Paringa needs more time to settle – and, sure, this will benefit from more bottle age (and it often can be overtly oaky) – yet there’s a vibrancy and definition in this vintage. It’s a delight to taste this, with its heady perfume and layers of flavour in dark fruit, baking spices, pepper and more. It's fuller bodied but not weighty, the tannins are fine, if sandy, and the acidity leaves a freshness and juiciness.

2021 Estate Shiraz
"The most approachable of all the three shiraz releases as the tannins are resolved. Lots of upfront dark fruit doused in baking spices and licorice. Full bodied with lots of charry oak, yet a very savoury drink that is appealing. More time in bottle will be beneficial."

Estate Chardonnay 2025
I think 2025 is shaping up to be an excellent vintage for Mornington. White fruit, citrus, spice and cashew. It sports such clean lines with a light grip to texture, there’s some fresh pineapple in the mix, but in a pleasing juicy way. It has intensity, balance and great length. In short it’s a top vintage for this wine and a thoroughly lovely.

The Paringa Single Vineyard Chardonnay 2024
A bit of stuck match, honey and almond, white fruit and citrus, toasty cedar oak. It’s a little saline and savoury, toasty oak and barrel ferment plays a leading role, though there’s also a juiciness here and a cut of grapefruity acidity. The finish has some sour yoghourt creaminess and flinty grip, and it has good length too. A complex somewhat worked style that’ll be better in a year or two.

Peninsula Pinot Noir 2025
This hits the spot, not least at its price point. It has flavour, but it also has some snap to it. I’m thinking cherry, spice, a little cedar, herb and perfume. The tannin sits confidently within the wine, not too much, not too little, and there’s brightness, energy, and good length to boot. Lovely wine. Recommended.

Estate Pinot Noir 2023
Paringa Estate never fails to deliver. This is another excellent Pinot Noir, beautifully balanced, well powered, structured and yet blessed with pristine fruit. It’s also complex, in that it runs undergrowth and twiggy spice notes throughout, almost to the point where it feels slightly autumnal. Tannin is a feature, as is the balance of oak. Fruit is black cherried and svelte. It’s a “this is how you do it” wine.

The Paringa Single Vineyard Pinot Noir 2023
Beautiful Pinot Noir. Beautiful fruit, appropriate oak, structure, balance and finesse. Flavours of red and black cherries, strawberries, twiggy spice and smoked cedar, with a minerally edge trailing through the aftertaste. It tastes ripe and feels dry. It’s clean as a whistle and immaculately composed and yet it still manages to convey something extra.

Robinson Vineyard Pinot Noir 2022
This is a light-but-tannic Pinot Noir with red cherry and red rose characters to the fore. There’s a smoky, reductive element in play too, which combines well with twiggy herb and nut shell notes. This wine is juicy and perfumed on the one hand, and meaty and strict on the other. It needs time to unfold.

Light-medium yellow; some smoky reduction at first sniff then morphing into roasted hazelnut and oatmeal, the palate rich and generous, with good fruit intensity and complexities from oak and winemaking inputs adding detail. Gorgeous flavour and generosity while retaining great elegance.

Full purple-red colour with a nose of darker fruits and chocolate, tending towards plum. A fuller style, big and bold with a good backbone of tannins which impart a faint but agreeable bitter trace. Very good and will go best with food.

The Paringa Single Vineyard Shiraz 2024
Cured meats, violets, rosemary, black plum and chocolate-dipped raspberry lure you in. The cushioned core is framed by a swathe of charry oak that has the upper hand on the fruit in its youth. This is built to age, it holds a lot of promise, giving glimpses of kelp, spice and Bonox flavours. These will develop, and the structure will sync with the fruit if you can give it time in the cellar.

The Paringa Single Vineyard Chardonnay 2024
The 2024 The Paringa Single Vineyard Chardonnay is aromatically restrained and led by spice rather than overt fruit, which is no bad thing. In the mouth, the wine is concentrated, spicy, lean and mineral. There is wet steel, crushed chalk, white orchard fruits, preserved citrus and saline acidity. The phenolics woven through the finish are firm and, set against the backdrop of acidity, feel a little astringent at this early stage, although this will be mitigated by some further time in bottle. Be patient.

Estate Chardonnay 2025
The 2025 Estate Chardonnay is from an excellent vintage in Mornington Peninsula. Based on the samples from barrel I have seen thus far from producers in the region, I am very much anticipating the release of these wines. Concentration and freshness seem to be the North Star of this vintage. So aromatically, the wine leads with white peach and warm baking spice, preserved citrus and crunchy green apple. On the palate, the wine is silky, supple and absolutely living up to its vintage-based reputation. It's great—my favorite release of this wine yet.

Peninsula Pinot Noir 2025
The 2025 Peninsula Pinot Noir leads with brambly cherry notes, licorice, raspberry seeds and tapenade. This is juicy and bright, coastal and fresh, with a profusion of dried herbs to close. I've been looking forward to being flooded by 2025 Mornington Peninsula bottles to taste. It was a lovely year, and everything I've seen in barrel has been very impressive.

The Paringa Single Vineyard Pinot Noir 2023
The 2023 The Paringa Pinot Noir is lightly framed and similarly weighted, yet the fruit has a concentration and penetration about it that elevates it over and above the other Paringa cuvées tasted here today. This veritably settles into the palate, staining it gently, reminding it that the flavors are here to stay. There are notes of cherry, clove, strawberry, pomegranate molasses, a hint of sumac and tapenade. The acidity is like wisps of caper brine. This is super lovely.

Paringa Estate Robinson Vineyard Pinot Noir 2022
A tautly wound, medium-bodied pinot. No lack of tannins, both stem- and grape skin-derived. Still a little reductive. But this should age very well. Rhubarb, red cherry pits and orange zest notes with the salty grit of tannins. Delicious. Drink or hold. Screw cap.

The nose has lifted and perfumed aromas of wild raspberries, cassia bark, violets and blood oranges. The palate is medium-bodied with finely integrated tannins and focused acidity, giving notes of cherries, dried herbs, baking spices and ferric earth. Very well integrated and perfumed. Drink or hold. Screw cap.

LJM Pinot Noir 2022
Absolutely singing with electric energy – a line of energy running from the back to the front, vibrating with energy. But it's a pretty serious wine, clenched with white-knuckle tension, masses of minerality, chalk and chew. Dried tarragon and dill. Cherry sherbet and dried cranberries and vanilla-pod dust. Blood orange, pomegranate. Cherry stem and cherry stone bring layers of herbs and minerality. Complex, thrilling and with substantial length.
